Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar

4.9
The expansive religious complex of Harmandir Sahib represents the holiest pilgrimage site in Sikhism. Built between 1585 and 1604, the complex suffered heavy damage during an Indian Army operation to root out Sikh extremists in 1984. Visit the extensive site and you'll immediately notice the pool surrounding the main temple, said to possess healing powers. Admire the marble base and intricate gilded top portion of the temple, a symbol for Sikhs the world over, and head inside to get a look at the interior, richly decorated with gold and precious stones. Respect the temple's guidelines by removing your shoes, washing your feet, and covering your head before entering. • This religious place requires no reviews actually. The hotel complex is very well maintained and is very clean. I am blessed that I managed to pay my visit to Satnam Waheguru Ji.  more »

  • Awesome place to visit. It is holy place that is so beautiful. The temple looks awesome. It is surrounded by water on three of it's sides and on one side we have a bridge to walk into the temple present at the centre of the water surrounding it. We need to take out our footwear before entering the holy temple. We need not to worry about where to leave our footwear as we have a free footwear collection stalls where they keep safe our footwear and give us the token to get them back after we return from the temple. Overall, Its a very beautiful place to visit. If you want a great experience, I would suggest that you visit this temple during the night as the temple in those lighting is awesome to look for. I am also attaching the photos so that you get an idea of how the temple looks during night time. Thank you for reading my review. Hope you would have a great experience visiting this holy temple in Amritsar city of Punjab in India 🤗🙂
  • You don't have to be Sikh to appreciate this place and feel its strong energy. The Sikh welcome all people, and it was a one in a lifetime experience to visit this place. It's absolutely worth the trip to Amritsar just to come here. You can have a meal made by the volunteers and stay for as long as you want. I spent hours there and would love to go again.
