This isn't a zoo, it is a collections of shops, cafes and play areas with some rare animals thrown in. Genuinely believe more space is given to selling things than the animals themselves. While the.... more »

Amazing place. Vivid experiences. Loved the guided tours and shows..they have 3 packages to choose from. If visiting keep a good 3 hours plus an hour for travel as it is a little away from downtown. Great positive environments. Do not miss out the shows. Check the schedules on their website for the same

This attraction is definitely a must do whilst in Singapore. We only did the zoo (river and night safari are both two different ticketed attractions) and spent most of our day there. We got a grab here and it wasn't too expensive - you can get there by metro and bus but just seemed a taxi is much quicker and not much more expensive. The zoo is easy to get around and we managed to see pretty much everything on the map - there is some amazing scenery too and picnic places. It was epic! Free ranging orangutans swinging from tree to tree. A beautiful aviary and butterfly house. Every animal was so well cared for, and we loved the fact there were active breeding programs for endangered and critical species. We loved the signs all around about the illegal pet trade, as education in this part of the world is so vital. The complete lack of cages and fences was admirable and gave the sense of connection between the animals and us.The zoo also houses some rescue dogs and cats which host a show around 4pm but unfortunately we missed this. You can tell the keepers really care for the animals and the shows that we did see were amazing. A beautiful and ethical zoo, well worth seeing. Best way to get there is taxi - ours was $19 from Clarke Quay for a family of 4.

Visitors can enjoy four different animal shows held twice daily at various times. Singapore Zoo has established itself as a world-class wildlife park that houses more than 2,800 animals, which roam freely in naturalistic habitats. A popular programme for visitors is the “Jungle Breakfast with Wildlife”, where the zoo’s iconic orang utan, Ah Meng, makes a regular appearance. A raised boardwalk allows for almost-360° views of the creatures swinging and playing amongst the trees & vegetation. The park’s Fragile Forest zone and Elephants of Asia exhibits are great educational experiences for visitors. Rainforest Kidzworld allows children to spend time with farmyard animals.
