The capital of Vietnam, Hanoi has bounded back from the effects of war, and today serves as a bustling commercial and cultural hub bursting at the seams.Head to 54 Traditions Gallery and The Bookworm Hanoifor plenty of shopping. Get outdoors at Lake of the Restored Sword (Hoan Kiem Lake) and West Lake. There's still lots to do: take a stroll through Old Quarter, take an in-depth tour of Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at One Pillar Pagoda, and contemplate the long history of Temple of Literature & National University.
