Crazy House, Da Lat

3.8
#3 of 173 in Things to do in Da Lat
Landmark · Tourist Spot
Resembling a giant deviated tree, Crazy House represents an architectural marvel mixing artistic sensibilities of Antoni Gaudi, Salvador Dali, and Walt Disney. Opened in 1990, the bizarre five-storey structure was designed and constructed by a Vietnamese architect who incorporated many Expressionist themes and hired local craftsmen to make the building look organic and alive. You can visit up to ten themed guest rooms, each portraying a particular animal, such as eagle, tiger, or kangaroo. The maze-like building lacks proper security measures in certain areas, so pay attention to your belongings. Put Crazy House and other Da Lat attractions into our Da Lat road trip tool, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • I think you have to see this on your visit to Dalat, it’s so famous. It only takes an hour or less but it’s amazing to explore. So much creativity and artistry. Definitely worth a stop.  more »
  • It was quiet the day we visited so we had an amazing time exploring with our children and friends. There's so much to see and explore. The architect is a very interesting lady . Very worth a visit.  more »

  • Crazy house is a cool surrealist series of buildings and gardens. There is a lot to see and it is always fin to explore around and look for new things to watch. This is a place for any age. If you are interested in seeing some of the most creative and weird buildings than you should definitely go. This is such a unique architecture that it is definitely worth the entry price.
  • Great architecture, good value for money, nice experience walking across the small paths through the place; so many different ways to explore! It's very busy though and sometimes you have to wait on a path until the crowd moves on, or you feel a little stressed because people behind you want to go on, whilst you would like to take a picture. But still very nice place to see!
