The former capital of the Kingdom of Ladakh, Leh possesses a historic old town area marked by stupas, monasteries, and traditional mud-brick houses.Get some cultural insight at Thiksey Monastery and Gurudwara Shri Pathar Sahib. Step out of Leh with an excursion to Hemis Monastery in Hemis--about 1h 5 min away. Next up on the itinerary: examine the collection at Hall of Fame, explore the striking landscape at Magnetic Hill, stop by Nomadic Woolen Mills, and don't miss a visit to Confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers.
