Originally established in the 17th century, Thien Mu Pagoda remains one of nation's oldest and best-preserved religious buildings. Situated on the Perfume River, the temple rises in seven tiers, each dedicated to human forms taken by Buddha during his road to Enlightenment. Upon your arrival, notice the wooden temple guardians with real human hair as beards near the entrance. Inside the compound, you can visit the monastic buildings, a large cemetery, and a beautifully maintained garden of pine trees. • The Pagoda sit on top of hill near the lake very beautiful view. There is no fee to visit the Pagoda. The Pagoda area is very clean you will see Monks. To visit the Pagoda you can bike ride there for free. If you go to the Citadel first there a free bikes by the washroom near the parking lot you can take the bikes from open until 9pm FREE. You can take the bike to many places for free instead of taxi and motor bikes. The Pagoda grounds is very relaxing it was quite lots of trees and green space. There are lots of bats flying around but not to worry you are safe. I'm super happy I got to go I went just before closing . You can buy food and drinks near buy maybe even a little gift for yourself. 😊
  • Lovely temple grounds and exquisitely curious tower. There's a full temple grounds behind the tower, including the pagoda, pond, shrine and garden. Another point of interest - the actual car that brought a monk to Saigon to set himself on fire to protest suppresion of religious freedom. Monks playing football is a huge extra if you get to witness it.
